Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan tour from Delhi by car

Mathura and Vrindavan sit on the Delhi–Agra road, which makes them an easy add-on to a Taj Mahal trip. This guide covers the distances, a realistic one-day and two-day plan, temple timings, and the fare.

Distances

One-day plan (long but popular)

This is a 15-hour day. With children or parents, split it over two days.

Two-day plan (recommended)

Day 1: Delhi → Mathura → Vrindavan, evening aarti, night in Vrindavan or Mathura. Day 2: Mathura → Agra, Taj Mahal at sunrise and Agra Fort, then back to Delhi by evening. This gives you the temples at a calm pace and the Taj at its quietest.

Temple timings and tips

• Banke Bihari (Vrindavan): opens early morning, closes midday, reopens in the evening — check the day's timing locally.
• Prem Mandir: open all day, spectacular after dark.
• Krishna Janmabhoomi (Mathura): security check, no phones inside.
• Dress modestly; remove shoes at temples.
• Holi and Janmashtami are extremely crowded — book well ahead.

Fare

A one-day Delhi–Mathura–Vrindavan–Agra–Delhi sedan starts at ₹5,500; Innova ₹8,000. A two-day trip with an overnight halt is ₹7,500 for a sedan, including the driver's stay. Tolls and state tax extra or all-inclusive.
