About the Delhi to Agra drive
The Delhi to Agra drive is one of the easiest long drives in North India. Once you cross the DND Flyway or the Ashram chowk, the Yamuna Expressway opens up for almost 165 km of smooth, six-lane road with very little traffic. Most of our drivers cover the distance in under four hours including a 20-minute tea stop at the Jewar or Mathura plaza.
Pickup timing matters more than people expect. If you want the Taj Mahal at opening, leave Delhi by 5:30 AM — that puts you at the East Gate before 9:30 AM, ahead of the tour buses. If you are doing a same-day return, a 6:00 AM start and a 5:00 PM departure from Agra gets you back in Delhi before dinner. On winter mornings, expect fog between December and January and add 45 minutes.
Which car should you book? For two people with cabin bags, a sedan is the cheapest comfortable option. For a family of four with large suitcases, choose an Innova. If you are travelling with parents or want extra legroom on the return leg, the Crysta is worth the difference. Groups of eight or more should take the Tempo Traveller.
